OUR MISSION

WALL SECTION.png

to investigate construction methods that did or did not survive coastal disasters and utilize our experiences in architecture, building and coastal processes to provide the coastal community with safer and stronger homes that are more reliable and energy efficient but still beautiful.

CMG Design|Build uses our scientific backgrounds and extensive engineering backgrounds to evaluate all home designs and go above and beyond to ensure your new coastal home is built to withstand the next major event.

QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK!

1. Have you fully calculated the requirements for a continuous load path for my house?

2. Is my roof securely constructed to not break apart during a storm? What kind of forces do I have to worry about during high winds?

3. What are the uplift forces at my roof? Is the roof properly connected to my  walls?

4. Are my second floor walls connected to my first floor walls? Do I have enough shearwall to resist shear forces in a high wind event?

5. Is my house securely fastened to the foundation? Is my foundation built to resist forces from debris in flood waters? What happens if flood waters scours sand out from around my foundations?

6. What precautions have been taken to ensure my home is safe from uplift, sliding, racking, and overturning?
